Szilárd Karakai is a Senior Manager in the Forensic Investigations, Corporate Intelligence & Litigation Support practice of Arendt Regulatory & Consulting, in which he is the expert in the Forensic Technology & eDiscovery services.

Szilárd has 10 years of international consulting experience in the field of Digital Forensics and eDiscovery, with a unique focus on administering large-scale document reviews. Before taking on his current role, he worked for EY, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte across Hungary, the Netherlands, Australia, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.

Adept at communicating with non-technical audiences, Szilárd has assisted law firms, financial institutions and multinational corporations in delivering defensible, data-driven solutions on internal investigations, complex litigation and regulatory compliance inquiries. He has led or supported teams in projects ranging from local engagements (embezzlement, envelope wages) to transnational white-collar investigations (fraud, bribery, corruption, money laundering), including some of the industry’s most high-profile mandates in recent years.

Szilárd is skilled in a variety of industry-standard forensic technology tools, and his expertise spans the entire EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model) life cycle. He is particularly interested in leveraging technology and is experienced in implementing efficient, innovative solutions that substantially reduce the cost of electronic document reviews. He holds certifications in MS SQL, Brainspace, Nuix and Cellebrite, and is one of only 40 certified Relativity Masters based in the EMEA region as of early 2022.

Szilárd graduated with a Master’s in Business Informatics from Széchenyi István University (Hungary).
