Arendt advised the ad hoc group of first-lien creditors in relation to the €1.3 billion restructuring of the Klöckner Pentaplast group’s financial debt. This cross-border transaction involved Chapter 11 proceedings in the United States for the purpose of delivering, inter alia, a debt-for-equity swap under which the first-lien creditors took ownership of 100% of the group’s equity. The restructuring helped to achieve a significantly strengthened balance sheet and enhanced financial flexibility.
