Apheon Management S.A. (Apheon), a pan-European mid-market private equity investment company, has successfully closed its sixth flagship fund vintage, Apheon MidCap Buyout VI SCSp (AMB VI), at its €1.25 billion hard cap.
Arendt & Medernach served as legal advisor to the fund on Luxembourg corporate, tax and investment fund matters. Our team assisted on the launch of the fund and advised on Luxembourg legal and tax aspects during investor negotiations.
With this milestone, Apheon’s total assets under management have reached €4.5 billion. AMB VI will continue Apheon’s successful strategy of majority buyout investments in primary situations in the lower mid-market, primarily partnering with families, founders and entrepreneurs across Core Europe (Benelux, France, Germany, Italy and Spain). The fund was significantly oversubscribed and fully allocated within eight months. An additional €50 million will be invested by the Apheon team and related families, bringing the total fund size to €1.3 billion.
Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP acted as lead counsel. Apheon was also advised by Evercore Private Funds Group and Houlihan Lokey Capital Solutions Group.
