Bob Calmes is a member of Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity & Real Estate practice areas of Arendt & Medernach.

Bob’s practice focuses on mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructurings and the setting up of joint ventures. He also advises private equity firms and hedge funds regarding upstream fund structuring and downstream acquisition structuring.

Bob has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 2006. Bob has been heading the firm’s New York office from 2013 to 2017. He is a member of the American Bar Association (M&A Committee; Space Law Committee) and the New York State Bar.

Bob has been a lecturer on various topics including cross-border M&A, the AIFMD. He serves as a Vice-President on the American Foreign Law Association (AFLA).

He holds a Master’s degree in international law from the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, a degree from the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises (Université Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne) as well as a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) from Pace Law School.
