Fouzia Benyahia is a Partner in the Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity & Real Estate and Restructuring & Insolvency practices of Arendt & Medernach.

She specialises in venture capital and corporate law, advising multinational companies, financial institutions, private equity and real estate funds on the structuring, financing and implementation of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, leveraged buy-outs, corporate reorganisations and refinancing.

She also represents companies facing financial difficulties and institutional investors acting as creditors of  such companies, including in relation to financial restructurings, distressed business transactions, cross-border reorganisations and insolvency proceedings.

In January 2024, Fouzia joined the expanded team of Arendt & Medernach’s representative office in Paris – where she had previously worked in 2019 – providing assistance to key stakeholders in the French market. From October 2015 to April 2017, she was seconded to Arendt & Medernach’s representative office in New York, where she advised US and Canadian clients on corporate law, corporate finance, private equity, mergers and acquisitions.

She is the co-chair of the Young Private Equity Leaders/YPEL sub-group of the LPEA Legal Committee.

Fouzia holds a Master’s 2 in Litigation, a Master’s 2 in Business and Tax Law and a Corporate Jurist Diploma (DJCE) from the University of Nancy 2 (France), as well as a certificate of specialisation in business and corporate law from the University of Montpellier 1 (France).

She has been a member of the Paris Bar and the Luxembourg Bar since 2013.
