Stefan Staedter is a Partner in the Investment Management practice of Arendt & Medernach. He became Head of the New York office in 2023, focusing on developing relations with markets in the US and more widely in North America. He promotes Arendt’s entire value chain, which encompasses the Luxembourg Legal & Tax, Regulatory & Consulting and Investor Services aspects. Stefan specialises in regulated and unregulated investment funds work, and mainly advises clients on the structuring and life cycle management of alternative investment funds – including real estate/infrastructure funds, private equity funds and debt funds, RAIFs/SIFs/SICARs and Luxembourg Part II funds, as well as their respective management entities. Stefan is also one of the firm’s experts on European long-term investment funds (ELTIFs), and he advises the majority of ELTIFs established in Luxembourg.
- Stefan studied in Potsdam (Germany) and Paris (France). He holds a Master’s in Law from the University of Paris-X (France), the German first (2009) and second (2014) State Examinations in law, and a German doctorate (2013). Stefan regularly publishes articles in European law journals and is a member of ALFI’s ELTIF Working Group and the ELTIF Task Force of Invest Europe. He also organises roundtable discussions on ELTIF-related topics and is a frequent speaker at conferences.

- Prior to joining Arendt & Medernach in 2017, Stefan worked for several international law firms in Berlin, London and Luxembourg.
