Arendt & Medernach advised the US-Luxembourg geospatial intelligence and climate technology company Hydrosat and its management on the acquisition of a Dutch irrigation management software company IrriWatch delivering daily satellite-based climate, soil and irrigation measurements to farmers in over 50 countries worldwide.

Hydrosat S.à r.l., a Luxembourg limited liability company, has completed its first major M&A transaction, by acquiring IrriWatch to further its goal of providing a comprehensive farm management tool using satellite data to significantly improve agricultural production worldwide.

The acquisition of IrriWatch contributes considerably to Hydrosat’s continued growth and accelerates the implementation of business solutions to increase global food production with less water.

It is also an important step in the development of Luxembourg’s thriving space industry, of which Hydrosat has been a part since 2018.

The entire transaction was governed by Luxembourg law, and Hydrosat was advised on Luxembourg legal matters relating to the acquisition, its financing and intellectual property matters by a team from the international law firm Arendt & Medernach led by partner Bob Calmes and counsel Blazej Gladysz-Lehmann.
