We are pleased to invite you to our Arendt Financial Law Forum Asia in Hong Kong.

This year, we will mainly discuss the latest trends in alternative investment funds structuring, setup and distribution in an AIFMD and Brexit context. We will also provide an update on other relevant regulations, in particular UCITS.

9:00 AM – Session I – Structuring Alternative Investments in the EU

This session will cover AIFs trend, their legal and regulatory framework, Luxembourg vehicles available, tax aspects and comparisons with other fund vehicles, parallel fund structuring and the benefits from appointing an EU AIFM.

9:50 AM – Session II – Distribution of Alternative Investment Funds in the EU

This session will focus on EU fund product distribution, channels, investor types, the recourse to private placement versus the AIFMD passport, and the pros and cons of appointing a third party AIFM versus setting-up your own AIFM.

10:20 AM – Session III – Legal and Regulatory Updates on UCITS, AIFMD and Brexit

This session will provide the latest legal and regulatory updates on UCITS and AIFMs, the implementation of PRC strategies in UCITS, the impact of Brexit on distribution and delegation, and the new circular on substance requirements in Luxembourg.

10:40 AM – Q&A and Conclusion

Kindly note that our application for 2 points of CPD accreditation is currently being reviewed with the Law Society.
