Yvan Stempnierwsky is a member of the Tax Law practice at Arendt & Medernach where he is in charge of the Financial Reporting and Accounting Standards practice.

He has more than 35 years' experience in the development and practice of accounting law (BE GAAP, LUX GAAP and IFRS) and in teaching this subject at various universities in Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

He advises clients on the accounting treatment of complex transactions under LUX GAAP, BE GAAP, IFRS, Not-for Profit Accounting Law and Public Sector Accounting Law.

Yvan’s expertise includes also assistance to listed companies during IFRS enforcements.

  • Yvan Stempnierwsky holds a Master’s degree in law from the Université de Bruxelles (Belgium) as well as a Master’s degree in Economic law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium).

Yvan has been a lecturer of Financial Reporting Law (BE GAAP and IFRS) at the University of Louvain (Belgium) since 1989. He is the author of many articles.

  • He has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2008 and was admitted by the Luxembourg Bar in 2013 to practice in Luxembourg under his Belgian professional title.
  • Yvan is a member of the Luxembourg Accounting Standards Board and an honorary member of the Belgian Accounting Standards Board.
