Philipp Jost is a Partner in the Tax Law practice of Arendt & Medernach.
He specialises in tax structuring for investment funds (private equity, infrastructure, real estate, venture capital and debt funds), particularly with respect to German investments and German investors.
Philipp advises clients on all tax aspects in connection with cross-border M&A transactions, corporate reorganisations and joint venture structures. He has extensive experience in the restructuring of distressed companies. In addition, he advises on the structuring of capital markets transactions, such as IPOs and debt issuance (specifically in the context of securitization matters).
Philipp coordinates the firm’s German market activities between the Frankfurt office and Arendt’s headquarters in Luxembourg.
- He holds a Ph.D. from Konstanz University (Germany) on German CFC regulation and EU tax law (Dr. iur.), as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Commercial Law from Auckland University (New Zealand).
- Philipp is a member of the Koblenz Bar (Germany) and the Luxembourg Bar.
