The office of the General Counsel
The office of the General Counsel plays a central role, acting as the coordinator between the bodies responsible for the firm’s governance. The General Counsel works closely with the Co-Chairs and the Managing Partner to organise and coordinate activities related to the strategy and management of Arendt.
In particular, the General Counsel:
- Collaborates with the Co-Chairs and the Managing Partner on the preparation and coordination of meeting agendas and supporting documents for the Arendt governance bodies
- Minutes the meetings of the governance bodies and coordinates how important decisions or positions are communicated to the Partners
- Prepares the agendas of Partners meetings, minutes decisions, organises the voting process and deals with any corporate filings required by law
- Interacts daily with the Managing Partner to help coordinate and organise the day-to-day management of the firm, in cooperation with the relevant business services, Partners and governance bodies
- Helps organise follow-up and practical implementation of decisions made by the firm’s governance bodies
- Organises the firm’s corporate agenda in terms of scheduling and organising governance-related meetings and events
- Takes charge of Arendt’s internal legal matters, such as drafting and reviewing contracts, client due diligence requests, etc.
- Acts as the depositary of corporate documentation
