This article explains Luxembourg’s strategy and its five main pillars for growing and successfully creating a nurturing ecosystem for all kinds of socially responsible investment (SRI) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) funds. It explores the upsurge of funds with a focus on SRI and ESG in the last 10 years and in particular since the signing of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 and the Paris Climate Agreement in 2016 and it reveals the different factors that have allowed Luxembourg to keep such a strong position for SRI and Islamic funds.
