In view of the increasing gravity of the situation in Eastern Ukraine, the European Council has decided to reinforce the set of restrictive measures adopted on 30 and 31 July 2014 targeting cooperation and exchanges with the Russian Federation.

In view of the increasing gravity of the situation in Eastern Ukraine, the European Council has decided to reinforce the set of restrictive measures adopted on 30 and 31 July 2014 targeting cooperation and exchanges with the Russian Federation. These measures are intended most notably to further limit access to EU capital markets, no longer only for Russian state-owned financial institutions but also for companies active in the defence sector and in the energy sector.
