Arendt & Medernach supports “Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner” and “Pour un Sourire d’Enfant asbl”

Luxembourg, 14 September 2016 – Arendt & Medernach has the pleasure of once again showing its support for “Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner” and the association “Pour un Sourire d’Enfant asbl”. Guy Harles and Jean-Marc Ueberecken performed the traditional presentation of funds on 2 September.

The association “Pour un Sourire d’Enfant a.s.b.l.” supports children living in poverty in Cambodia by providing food aid, material assistance, accommodation and schooling. To this end, a cheque was presented to the Vice-President, Mrs Nathalie Prieur. This year the funds will be used in particular to provide access to education for underprivileged children who are excluded from schooling. A vibrant and participatory method for the upgrading of education will be applied in five provinces of Cambodia. This project includes the training of school teaching staff, the printing of school textbooks and the provision of stationery as well as awareness-raising measures.Click here to visit the association’s website

“Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner” is committed to helping children with cancer and other rare and dangerous illnesses. Their aim is to provide assistance to the families concerned, to raise awareness of childhood cancer and to support oncopediatric research. A cheque was presented to Mrs Veerle Dierick, Project Coordinator for the foundation. This year, the funds will serve to implement a system of educational supervision for critically ill children in Luxembourg. This system, which is already in place in other countries, will enable the children concerned to follow the core syllabus for their school year via a computerised interface and to maintain social links with their fellow pupils.Click here to visit the fondation’s website

The funds were raised via the registration fees for the Arendt Financial Law Forum seminar, one of the largest annual gatherings organised by the law firm Arendt & Medernach. This event brings together legal experts and other decision-makers from the financial sector to keep them informed of legal, regulatory and tax developments which have an impact on their activity.

This support reflects Arendt & Medernach’s strong and perennial commitment to promoting equal opportunities for all children.
