Luxembourg, 7 June 2022 - Arendt is pleased to welcome Jean-Luc Putz, who joins the group as a Partner. He will work within the firm's Business Crime and Employment Law, Pensions & Benefits practice areas.

Jean-Luc is an expert in criminal law, with a focus on white-collar, financial and corporate crime, cybercrime, as well as money laundering and corrupt practices issues. He also has extensive knowledge of both individual and collective labour law.

Prior to joining Arendt, Jean-Luc was a member of the Luxembourg Bar from 2002 to 2007, after which he sat as a judge presiding over criminal cases for more than 10 years and worked in civil law for 4 years. He returned to the Luxembourg Bar in 2022 in order to join Arendt.

"I am delighted to be joining Arendt as a Partner in order to further develop the firm’s existing criminal law practice. The brilliant team I'll be working with will focus on the financial and economic facets of this vast field. I will also be collaborating with Arendt's forensic investigations and compliance teams.

A significant segment of business law entails possible criminal sanctions, and public authorities are tending to increase their suppressive measures. More stringent demands in the fight against money laundering, the growing public awareness of corruption and tax justice, and the disconcerting rise of cybercrime are just a few of the reasons for this.

Within the team, we will cover the full range of services regarding criminal law and related compliance requirements, from criminal risk awareness through to professional, objective assistance with criminal proceedings. At the same time, I will use my expertise in employment law," said Jean-Luc Putz.

"Within the criminal law team, Jean-Luc will pursue Arendt’s philosophy of offering clients comprehensive service from a single place. He will also bring a wealth of knowledge in labour law and will use his extensive experience to support Arendt’s employment law team," explained Managing Partner Jean-Marc Ueberecken.
