​The exhibition "Oleg Dou, Sergey Maximishin, Margo Ovcharenko – Russian Tales” has been on view at Arendt & Medernach until 10 April 2013 every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Oelg Dou was born in 1983 in Moscow. Self-taught, Oleg DOU is today the most prominent Russian artist of his generation. Oleg Dou lives and works in Moscow.

Sergey Maximishin was born in Kertch, Crimea in 1964. After his military service in Cuba, a diploma in nuclear physics and a job at Hermitage expertise laboratory, Maximishin devoted himself to his passion, photojournalism, in 1998 and rapidly became a famous photojournalist. A recipient of two World Press Photo awards (2005, 2006) and on 16 occasions of the Russia Press Photo award, Sergey MAXIMISHIN’s numerous publications have appeared in both the Russian and international press: The Times, Time, Newsweek, Parool, Libération, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Stern, Business Week, Focus, Der Profile, Corriere della Sera, Izvestia, Ogonyok, Itogi, Photo. His numerous personal exhibitions include Visa pour l’image (2007) and FotoFest (2012). Maximishin is today Russia’s most important photojournalist.

Sergey Maximishin’s photographs form part of public (Musée Nicéphore Nièpce, Fond National d’Art Contemporain) and private collections in France, Belgium, Holland, Italy and Russia.

Margo Ovcharenko was born in Krasnodar, Russia in 1989, Margo Ovcharenko and was graduated from Moscow Rodchenko School of Photography and Multimedia in 2011.

Solo exhibitions include: Houston FotoFest (2012), New York Photo Festival (2011), 7th Moscow Biennale (2011), Forografisk Center, Copenhagen (2010); in parallel to her Fabrika residency (Treviso), Margo Ovcharenko was the only Russian photographer to contribute to the book “Re-generation 2, photographers of tomorrow” (Lausanne, Switzerland, Musée d’Elysée, 2010). Her publications include: Artpress, Télérama, European Photography Magazine, Camera Austria and Blink.

Her images focus on young people, often ill at ease, who are negotiating the transition from adolescent to adult. She describes her work as inspired by the colour, light and perspective of classical painting. Her portraits explore the vulnerability of her subjects.

Margo Ovcharenko lives between Moscow, Krasnodar and Europe.
