Arendt & Medernach is a leading Luxembourg full service law firm. The main office of Arendt &
Medernach is in Luxembourg, one of the world's major financial centres.
Within the EU, Luxembourg is second only to London in terms of
concentration of financial and banking activity. Luxembourg's flexible
banking and investment fund legislation and extensive network of double
tax treaties have enabled it to emerge as a leading centre for
international lending, investment funds and private banking.
Our
firm was formed in 1988 by the merger between the two Luxembourg law
firms of Arendt & Harles and Mersch & Medernach. We offer to
both our institutional Luxembourg and foreign clients a comprehensive
legal service in the key areas of Financial Services, Corporate, Tax
and Intellectual Property, Investment Management and Litigation. We are
dedicated to providing legal advice and services of the highest quality
characterised by a flexible approach and a responsive attitude to
client relationships. Since its foundation our firm has expanded
considerably. Arendt & Medernach acts on behalf of a large number
of Luxembourg banks, financial professionals and investment funds in
addition to being involved in a steady flow of cross-border
transactions. As the largest Luxembourg law firm, with 250 legal
professionals, Arendt & Medernach provides clients with excellent
advice combining an in-depth understanding of the financial markets
with specialised knowledge of the legal considerations.
Arendt
& Medernach continues to expand and to develop the services it
offers to both its institutional Luxembourg and foreign clients. This
expansion has included the establishment of an office in Brussels as
well as the creation of an exclusive alliance with Dillon Eustace, one
of the principal Irish law firms, creating one of the leading
investment management practices acting globally. In September 2005,
Arendt & Medernach opened a representative office in New York so as
to improve its services to its North American clients and their
intermediaries. Two more representative offices were opened in London and Dubai in September 2007 and in November 2008 respectively.
